Site of the historic Dueling Gounds where 26 recorded duels occurred during the 19th century.  The most famous, in 1820, was between two of the highest ranking officers of the U.S. Navy, Commodore Stephen Decatur and Commodore james Barron. Decatur lost his life that day.
