Established in 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 12,750-acre refuge provide unparalleled opportunities to observe and learn about wildlife and the environment, as well as areas for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and other outdoor activities. The center features state-of-the-art interactive exhibits, weekend wildlife movies, educational programs and seasonal tram tours.
