Designed and built for the Snowden family in the 1780s, this National Historic Landmark is nestled within 70 acres of rolling parkland, and is one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the state. While there, visit the Montpelier Cultural Arts Center (12826 Laurel-Bowie Road, 301-953-1993, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., shared parking lot) for artist studios, exhibits, classes and live performances.
